Pakistan – The prospect of renewed peace negotiations between the United States and Iran has strengthened as international diplomatic efforts intensify before an upcoming ceasefire deadline. Speaking to Fox News, President Donald Trump expressed a high degree of optimism regarding the situation. “I believe it is almost over,” the President stated during his broadcast interview. “Yes, I see it as being very close to the end now.” He further suggested that the Iranian administration is currently very eager to formalise a signed agreement to conclude the ongoing hostilities.

In Islamabad, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commenced a vital four-day diplomatic tour covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey. This mission is designed to solidify the foundations for a potential second round of direct talks. These developments follow a period of stalled discussions last week in the Pakistani capital. A diplomatic source quoted by the Iranian state news agency, IRNA, confirmed that the exchange of messages remains active. “The communication between Iran and Pakistan regarding the Islamabad negotiations is ongoing,” the source remarked. “Pakistan remains fully determined to continue its role as a mediator in this process.”

Within the American administration, Vice President JD Vance has also indicated that Washington is seeing tangible results from the recent dialogue. During a previous briefing on the regional security situation, the Vice President commented on the trajectory of the discussions. “We have made significant progress in our talks with Iran,” Vance noted. “There is now a genuine possibility of reaching an agreement that could finally end the war in the Middle East.” This coordinated surge in diplomacy reflects a shared international desire to prevent further escalation and secure a lasting settlement.
