Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held telephone discussions on Tuesday with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.

His Majesty and the Japanese PM reviewed the latest regional developments and the repercussions of these on the security of countries and the safety of their peoples.

The prime minister commended the sultanate’s efforts in easing regional tensions, while reaffirming her country’s commitment to resolving the conflict through diplomatic channels and reaching a final agreement.

His Majesty’s discussion with the Emir of Qatar also dealt with the evolving situation in the region and its security and economic ramifications for nations and their peoples.

During the talks, the two leaders underscored the imperative of consolidating international efforts to safeguard the security of maritime navigation and to resolve the ongoing conflict through diplomatic channels, grounded in the principles of international law, in a concerted bid to ensure the security and stability of the region and the world.
