Ibri – The “Depths of the Earth: A Journey into the World of Geology” exhibition was officially inaugurated at the Institute of Islamic Sciences in Ibri on April 12. This institute is part of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science and aims to improve how students learn about geography and earth sciences. The exhibition uses an interactive approach to help visitors understand the geological environment and how different types of rocks form over millions of years.

The exhibition features nine specialized sections that cover various aspects of geology. Visitors can explore areas dedicated to volcanoes, igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, and fossils. There is also a section focused on metamorphic rocks and another that shows how rocks are used in everyday life. For a more practical experience, there is a corner for simulating excavation work using professional tools. The exhibition also highlights modern technology by showing how drones and satellites are now used in geological surveys to explore the earth.
