Muscat – Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) has successfully concluded the maintenance of thirty-four water channels and natural springs across various governorates in Sultanate during the first quarter of 2026. Official statistics released by the Department of Aflaj indicate that these works were carried out between January and March. The completed projects include four sites in Musandam, five in Buraimi, one in North Batinah, and four in South Batinah. Additionally, the ministry finalised four projects in Muscat, two in Dakhliyah, five in North Sharqiyah, five in South Sharqiyah, and four in Dhofar.

Following these completions, the ministry has already initiated a new phase of maintenance during the same period. Current ongoing works involve one project in Muscat, two in Dakhliyah, and one in South Batinah. Furthermore, construction and repair efforts have commenced on three projects in North Sharqiyah, one in South Sharqiyah, and one in the Dhofar Governorate.
