Muscat – Oman has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States, expressing hope that the move will pave the way for broader regional stability and renewed diplomatic engagement.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry commended the diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan and other international partners working to end the conflict and de-escalate tensions.
The sultanate stressed the need to intensify diplomatic engagement to address the root causes of the crisis, noting that sustainable peace requires a permanent end to hostilities and a comprehensive political solution.
In a post on X, H E Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, stressed the urgency of translating the ceasefire into meaningful negotiations.
“For now, the world has stepped back from disaster. But there’s no room for complacency,” he said. “Serious negotiations are now required for lasting peace. Oman will support this work for the vital and urgent purpose of strong and enduring regional security.”
