Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY) announced on Tuesday that it will support 68 youth initiatives in 2026, spanning a wide range of fields across all governorates, as part of efforts to empower young people and expand community participation.
The supported initiatives include Youth of Good Deeds, From Oman to the World, Future Skills 360, Wahy Platform for Creative Writing, Motherhood, Innovation Ambassadors Group, Idrak, We Care, Wishes and Your Idea Deserves It.
Other initiatives selected for support include Technology Pioneers Initiative, Qistas Initiative for Spreading Legal Awareness, From Memory Initiative, Empowerment Initiative, Science Inspirations Initiative (Omani Women Leaders in Science) and the Ready Initiative.
According to the ministry, the initiatives are expected to benefit more than 14,000 people across Oman, reflecting their growing impact on local communities.
Hilal bin Saif Al Siyabi, chief of the Directorate General of Youth, said the ministry is committed to supporting these youth-led initiatives due to their positive role in encouraging civic engagement and innovation among young Omanis.
He noted that the ministry support helps nurture a culture of initiative and responsibility among youth, while also reinforcing their connection to Omani values and traditions and encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to society.
Al Siyabi added that the Youth Initiatives Support Project is one of the ministry’s key programmes with continuous follow-ups throughout the year. Its programmes are implemented across Oman, broadening their reach and impact.
He informed that more than 100 initiatives applied for support this year, with 68 selected for full funding, exceeding last year’s total of 61 initiatives supported by the ministry.
MCSY stated that the support process involves several stages, beginning with online registration and submission of proposals, followed by project evaluation and the announcement of approved initiatives. Selected initiatives then sign an agreement with the ministry to regulate their work and enhance their organisational framework.
Officials added that the Youth Initiatives Regulations issued in 2023 reflects the ministry’s commitment to enhancing governance of such initiatives and defining a clear operational framework that safeguards the rights and responsibilities of both the initiatives and the ministry.
