Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, at Al Barakah Palace on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the Kuwaiti minister conveyed greetings and best wishes of Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, to His Majesty and the Omani people.

On his turn, His Majesty asked the minister to convey his greetings and best wishes to the Emir and the people of Kuwait.

The meeting addressed ongoing regional developments. His Majesty heard Kuwait’s perspectives on the war and its effects on countries in the region and the global economy. His Majesty affirmed Oman’s stance on these issues, emphasising the need to intensify efforts to achieve de-escalation, reduce tensions and acts of provocation, and find solutions to resolve the crisis at its root. His Majesty noted that this would contribute to safeguarding regional security, stability and the well-being of its peoples.

The meeting was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Mohammed Nassir Al Hajri, Ambassador of Kuwait to Oman, and Abdullah Nasser Al Obaidi, Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister.
