Ibri – The Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhahirah has announced results of its 2025 animal vaccination campaigns under the National Livestock Immunisation Project, implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
Official figures show that 562,482 vaccine doses were administered across the wilayats of Ibri, Yanqul and Dhank, benefiting 3,974 livestock breeders. The campaign covered sheep, goats, cattle and camels.
The directorate stated that the epidemiological situation in the governorate remains stable, attributing this to continuous surveillance and field operations. Eight specialised veterinary teams carried out the programme during the year, establishing 15 vaccination camps in livestock areas and conducting awareness outreach for breeders. Private veterinary clinics also supported the campaign under the supervision of the Animal Wealth Department.
Awadh bin Salem Al Asmi, Director of the Agriculture and Water Resources Department in Wadi Al Ain, said adherence to the national immunisation schedule has delivered measurable outcomes. “Commitment to the programme has reduced disease incidence and improved the quality of locally produced meat and dairy products,” he said, adding that this strengthens confidence in domestic produce and supports the supply of safe food to the market.
Sheikha bint Mohammed al Badi, Head of the Animal Development Section in Dhank, urged breeders to cooperate with veterinary teams and comply with the 2026 vaccination schedule. She stressed that sustained immunisation is essential to safeguard public health and reinforce the local agricultural economy.
The vaccination programme targets epidemic livestock diseases, including foot-and-mouth disease, sheep and goat plague, sheep pox and enterotoxaemia.
