Iran – Iranian Armed Forces have announced the successful targeting and total destruction of three United States military aircraft in the central province of Isfahan on April 5. According to official reports from the state news agency, the targeted assets included two Black Hawk helicopters and one C-130 military transport plane. The operation took place in an open area in the southern part of the governorate, where Iranian state media later broadcasted images purportedly showing the charred wreckage and debris of the American hardware.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which oversees the unified command of Iran’s military branches, stated that the aircraft were intercepted during a joint operation involving multiple defensive units. Officials claimed that these US assets were engaged in a mission to rescue an American pilot whose fighter jet had been downed in the region previously. While the Iranian military described the rescue attempt as a foiled deception mission, reports from other sources suggest the US may have destroyed its own stranded equipment to prevent it from falling into Iranian hands. The situation marks a significant escalation in regional aerial confrontations.
