Ibri – A total of 1,762 volunteers took part in a large-scale clean-up campaign across the wilayats of Dhahirah to address the impact of the recent rains and support recovery efforts.

The initiative brought together government agencies, volunteer teams, the private sector and community members in coordination with the governorate’s municipality and offices of walis. Field operations covered the wilayats of Ibri, Yanqul and Dhank, as well as villages and areas affected by debris and wadi flows.

Work included clearing main and secondary roads, removing dirt, sand and gravel, cutting fallen trees, draining water accumulations and repairing damaged road infrastructure using heavy equipment and machinery.

Participants said the volunteer day reflected the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that characterises Omani society, noting that removing hazards from roads contributes to public safety and environmental protection.

The campaign saw wide participation from different age groups, underscoring a sense of civic responsibility and teamwork in the governorate.

Officials said efforts will continue in the coming days to complete clean-up operations, with priority given to the most affected areas to accelerate recovery and ensure a safe environment.
