Muscat – The Civil Aviation Authority has issued a forecast for rainfall across several parts of the country from 2am to 10pm on Wednesday.

According to the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre, rainfall of varying intensity is expected in Dhahirah, Dakhliyah, North and South Sharqiyah, and Al Wusta, along with southern parts of Muscat governorate. Fresh winds of 18–35 knots may lead to reduced visibility, while heavy rainfall could cause wadis to flow, particularly in mountainous areas of South Batinah.

According to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre, the weather system is expected to bring fresh winds with speeds ranging between 18 and 35 knots, which may result in reduced horizontal visibility. The anticipated rainfall is likely to lead to significant runoff in streams and valleys, particularly in the mountainous areas of South Batinah. While the primary impact level is classified as low to moderate, effects are also expected to extend to Musandam, Buraimi, and Dhofar in the form of scattered light to moderate showers.

Civil Aviation Authority has advised all citizens and residents to exercise extreme caution during thundershowers. Official guidance strongly recommends avoiding low-lying areas and strictly prohibits the crossing of wadis during flash floods. Furthermore, mariners are urged to refrain from sailing during the alert period to ensure safety amidst the active wind conditions and changing sea states.
