Barka records highest rainfall at 166mm

Muscat – Several wilayats across the sultanate recorded heavy rainfall during the recent weather conditions affecting the sultanate, according to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

Statistics from the ministry showed that the highest rainfall was recorded in Barka at 166mm, followed by Bahla (165mm), Wadi Al Maawil (118mm) and Bausher (112), during the period from March 20 to March 24 (8pm).

Other areas that saw heavy rainfall included Adam, which recorded 107mm, followed by Seeb with 104mm, Al Musannah with 98mm, and Sur with 95mm.

Several wilayats also registered significant rainfall, including Suwaiq, Nakhal, Bidiyah, Al Buraimi, Al Qabil, Rustaq, Mahdha, Liwa, and Shinas, with totals ranging between 70mm and 93mm. Meanwhile, moderate rainfall ranging between 20mm and 60mm was recorded in other parts of the sultanate, while a few locations saw light rainfall of less than 10mm.
