Muscat – A photograph captured by Omani photographer Ahmed Al Hosni beautifully portrays a serene Ramadan moment in the mountainous village of Wakan Village, where a group of Omani youths gather to share Iftar amid a landscape of blooming apricot trees and towering date palms.
The image shows three young men seated on a traditional rooftop platform, gathered around a simple Ramadan meal as the surrounding terraces burst into soft pink and purple hues from apricot blossoms. The scene reflects the unique charm of Wakan during spring, when fruit trees bloom across the terraced mountain farms, creating one of the most picturesque natural settings in Oman.
Wakan, located in the Wilayat of Nakhal, is known for its cool climate, terraced agriculture and seasonal fruit harvests, particularly apricots and pomegranates. During Ramadan, the village offers a tranquil atmosphere where residents and visitors often break their fast surrounded by nature and traditional Omani hospitality.
The photograph highlights the harmony between community traditions and Oman’s rich natural environment, capturing a quiet moment of reflection and togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan.
