Muscat – The “Alamat” (Signs) exhibition officially opened on Monday at the historic Al Mirani and Muttrah Forts, highlighting the creative achievements of young Omani graphic designers. Held under the auspices of H E Qais Mohammed al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), the event marks the successful conclusion of the “Alamat Lab” intensive training programme.
The exhibition is the culmination of a rigorous two-week initiative where 40 young designers participated in specialised workshops led by a group of Omani and Arab experts. The training focused on essential industry skills, including typography, poster design, and talent management within the modern labour market. The showcased works include a diverse collection of posters and artworks that blend contemporary design with Oman’s rich cultural heritage and historical identity.

H E Qais Mohammed al Yousef praised the high level of artistic awareness displayed by the participants. He noted that such initiatives are vital for preparing a skilled national workforce and strengthening the creative industries’ role in supporting the national economy. The exhibition, which runs until 28th January, also features public lectures and interactive activities designed to foster community engagement with visual arts and design.
