Muscat – Muscat Municipality has announced a new walkway project in Al Nahda 7 City in Amerat as part of its plan to develop public spaces and promote healthy and active lifestyles.

According to the municipality, the walkway of 160m length and 5m width will have separate tracks for pedestrians and cyclists. The project will include benches, shaded rest areas and outdoor fitness equipment to encourage physical activity.

The project will feature landscaped green areas designed to offer residents and visitors a pleasant environment to relax and enjoy outdoor recreation.

According to the municipality, the project aligns with its broader goal of creating sustainable, community-friendly urban spaces across the capital.

In a separate announcement, the municipality offered a new investment opportunity in the tourism and hospitality sector through a public tender for the management and operations of a café in the Qurum area.

The café site, located in Plot No 1022 and covering 566sqm, is strategically positioned for tourism-related ventures. The tender is open to experienced hospitality operators, including international restaurant chains and companies holding recognised trademarks, under a 15-year contract.

The civic body stated that the project aims to attract private investment to enhance public facilities and contribute to Muscat’s growing appeal as a destination for leisure and business.
