Muscat – The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has rolled out a significant update to its official mobile application, introducing a package of new digital services aimed at enhancing convenience and speeding up access to public services.

The update, now available on both Android and iOS platforms, provides users with a range of features including the ability to display family information, update phone numbers for children under 18 years of age, and access digital copies of important documents such as birth certificates, passports, and investor cards. The app also enables users to view details of individuals under their sponsorship.

Other features include:

  • Digital Identity Integration: Utilising digital identity for electronic travel gates and verifying identity in financial transactions.
  • Enhanced Reporting & Information: Reporting human trafficking and technical faults through the ROP app, and viewing employee data for employers.

In a noteworthy step towards improving public service delivery, the ROP has also introduced a service that allows families to book inmate visitations through video calls, removing the need for physical visits to correctional facilities.

The initiative reflects ROP’s commitment to digital transformation and aligns with Oman’s broader goals of expanding e-services, streamlining public access, and leveraging technology for greater efficiency.
