Muscat – The Oman Film Society (OFS) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Kazan International Film Festival in Tatarstan, Russia.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Milyausha Aytuganova, Executive Director of the festival, and Mohammed bin Abdullah al Ajmi, Chairman of OFS.

It includes provisions for exchanging film screenings, organising training programmes, and sharing expertise in cinema, as well as exploring opportunities for future joint productions.

Fahd bin Ramadan al Maimani, OFS Director of Local and International Relations, said the agreement marks a significant step for Omani cinema. “This partnership opens the door to joint projects and cultural and artistic exchange with Russia. It will strengthen the presence of Omani cinema in international forums, develop national talent, and build long-term strategic partnerships,” he said.
