Muscat – Oman’s national junior tennis team will begin its journey tomorrow in the Arab Under-14 Championship, hosted by the Tunisian capital until the 23rd of this month, with the participation of ten Arab teams.

The national team is participating in the tournament with six players, both male and female, including: Mutaz al Mazrouei, Abdulrahman al Rahbi, Azan al Busaidi, Arin al Azkouiya, Talia al Busaidi, and Salma al Riyami, under the leadership of coaches Sufiyat Doub (boys’ category) and Sergei Bersihen (girls’ category).

The national team’s participation in this tournament followed a successful three-week preparatory camp in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which included training sessions and friendly matches as part of a joint camp for players from Arab national teams. This provided the players with additional experience before entering the tournament.

The tournament will be held on the clay courts of the Marsa Club in the Tunisian capital, with the participation of the national teams of the Sultanate of Oman, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq.

Ahmed al Balushi, the team’s delegation manager, emphasised that this participation is of great importance to the under-14 category, as it will help them gain experience and international ranking points. He noted that the players had prepared optimally during the Egypt camp, expressing his hope for positive results and advanced positions.
