Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held a phone call with King Abdullah II ibn al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Monday.

During the call, the two leaders exchanged views on the disturbing developments in the region and the serious repercussions of these, particularly in the wake of recent US strikes targeting facilities inside the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The two leaders emphasised the need of combined regional and international efforts, alongside enhanced coordination and consultation, to halt escalation and extinguish the flames of war – both in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing conflict resulting from Israeli aggression against Iran.

They also stressed the importance of returning to peaceful dialogue and negotiations to achieve political solutions to all issues and crises, in accordance with international law, in a manner that ensures security and stability across the region and spares its peoples further risks and repercussions.
