Muscat – The Coast Guard Police Command, in collaboration with the General Department for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, has apprehended three individuals for attempting to smuggle drugs into Oman via the sea.

The suspects — 3 Asian nationals — were caught in the act of trafficking quantities of hashish and marijuana by boat.

According to the authorities, the arrests were made as part of ongoing efforts to secure the Sultanate’s maritime borders and combat illegal drug trafficking. The seized substances have been confiscated, and legal proceedings against the individuals are currently under way.

Officials reiterated their commitment to intensifying patrols and strengthening coastal surveillance to prevent such activities.
