Muscat – Royal Navy of Oman’s Shabab Oman II set sail on its seventh voyage to Europe, titled ‘Amjad al Bihar’, following a grand ceremony held at Said bin Sultan Naval Base on Wednesday.
The event was held under the patronage of H E Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of State Council, who reviewed a guard of honour and officially signalled the ship’s departure. The ceremony featured a performance by the Royal Navy of Oman Band and a display of visual presentations highlighting the sultanate’s rich maritime heritage.
During the six-month voyage, Shabab Oman II will visit several European ports, carrying a message of peace and friendship. The ship’s mission is to promote authentic Omani culture and foster international goodwill through public engagements and official visits.
