Saudi Foreign Minister visits Oman to deepen strategic partnership

Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Badr al Busaidi tour key sites, reaffirm bilateral cooperation

Muscat – His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arrived in Muscat for an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman. He was received at Muscat International Airport Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr al Busaidi.

As part of the visit, Sayyid Badr accompanied H H Prince Faisal, to the Rub’ al-Khali land port, which serves as a key gateway between the two brotherly nations. The ministers were briefed on the facilities currently in operation and the services offered by the port to facilitate commercial exchange, tourism, and traffic flow. The visit underscored the importance of cooperation and integration across multiple sectors, reflecting the enduring fraternal ties between Oman and Saudi Arabia.

“This visit comes within the framework of our mutual keenness to enhance logistical and economic cooperation, in line with the aspirations of our leaderships,” said Sayyid Badr in an official statement. “It also aligns with the strategic goals of Vision 2030 and Vision 2040 of Saudi Arabia and Oman respectively.”

Following the port visit, the two ministers held a bilateral meeting in the Wilayat of Jabal Akhdar in Dakhiliyah Governorate. Discussions focused on advancing bilateral cooperation and promoting joint initiatives within the framework of the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council, aimed at serving the shared interests of the two nations.

On the political front, the ministers also exchanged views on key regional and international developments, emphasising the importance of addressing challenges through diplomatic and political solutions. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination and consultation, with a focus on enhancing regional security, ensuring stability, and supporting sustainable development efforts across the region.

The visit is widely seen as a testament to the growing strategic partnership between Oman and Saudi Arabia, rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for the future.
