Muscat – In two separate operations aimed at safeguarding national security, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has successfully foiled a major drug smuggling attempt and prevented an illegal border crossing by sea.
The North Batinah Police Command intercepted an effort to smuggle more than 95 kilograms of crystal meth and morphine by sea, arresting three nationals for possession with intent to traffic. Legal proceedings against the suspects are currently underway.
In a separate incident, the Coast Guard, under the Dhofar Governorate Police Command, apprehended six Arab nationals attempting to enter the Sultanate illegally via the Wilayat of Sadah. Authorities confirmed that legal action is being taken.
The ROP reaffirmed its commitment to combatting drug trafficking and unlawful entry, emphasising continued vigilance along the Sultanate’s land and maritime borders.
