Muscat – As Eid al Fitr approaches, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) has urged consumers in Oman to shop safely by purchasing from licensed e-commerce platforms and verified social media stores.

The ministry has emphasised the use of ‘Maroof’, an official platform that lists trusted online businesses in Oman, to ensure a secure shopping experience. Authorities warn that buying from unverified sources could pose risks such as fraud, counterfeit products, or unreliable delivery services.

To assist consumers, MOCIIP has made its customer service hotline (80000070) available for inquiries regarding safe online shopping. With Eid preparations in full swing, shoppers are advised to prioritise security and reliability by choosing authorised platforms for their purchases.
