The Consumer Protection Department in Buraimi Governorate, in collaboration with the Oman Environmental Holding Company (Bee’ah), has destroyed a significant quantity of illegal smokeless chewing tobacco.

A total of 2,300 bags, each weighing 100 grams—amounting to 230,000 grams (23 kgs)—were seized and subsequently disposed of in accordance with legal procedures. The confiscated items violated Decision No. (256/2015) and its amendments, which prohibit the trade of such products due to the serious health risks they pose to consumers.
