Muscat – A delegation of five Pakistani businessmen from Oman met with Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development, in Islamabad to discuss trade relations and expatriate concerns.

The delegation from Oman included Muhammed Aslam, Chairman, Alkaram Mill; Syed Zaib Hassan Jaffery, Prominent Social worker and CEO SHI Group; Malik Yameen Awan, Chairman, Yameen Group; Imran Sheikh, Chairman, Imran Foods Oman; and Rana Sikandar Ali, Chairman, Dynamics Sports Oman.

One of the key issues raised by the delegation was visa hurdles faced by the Pakistanis in Oman. Jaffery acknowledged the efforts of H E Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman, in addressing the issue but called for further intervention.

“The visa challenges must be addressed at the highest level to facilitate smoother business operations and employment opportunities for Pakistanis in Oman,” he said.

The Minister assured that he would discuss the matter with the Omani government to find a resolution.

The delegation also proposed a direct ferry service between Pakistan and Oman, with Imran Sheikh and Malik Yamin Awan stressing that it would enhance trade, tourism, and connectivity between the two countries.

The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Oman economic ties, acknowledging that H E Bokhari is working towards enhancing bilateral trade and resolving expatriate concerns.

He assured that the government would take concrete steps to facilitate business and trade growth with Oman.
