Muscat – The Muscat Municipality has addressed public concerns regarding the suspension of the Ghubra Bridge expansion project, confirming that the delay is due to construction challenges being assessed in coordination with the project developer.

The project, part of the Phase 2 expansion of Oman Avenues Mall, is being undertaken by the mall’s developer. Given its central location, which includes several essential facilities and key services, certain obstacles have necessitated a temporary pause to evaluate viable solutions.

Some of the construction work is also being carried out outside the Sultanate, adding to the time required for assessment. Muscat Municipality has assured that it is working closely with the developer to explore feasible alternatives. Once an agreement is reached, work will resume, prioritising both structural integrity and traffic and public safety.
