Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) announced extension of deadline for submission of bids for the management, operation, and development of Samail Castle in the Dakhliyah governorate.

Spread over 10,000sqm, Samail Castle, built in the 17th century on a rocky hill, will be handed over to the private sector for its development and management.

In an official statement, the ministry stated, ‘The deadline for submitting competitive bids for the management, operation, and development of Samail Castle has been extended to March 6, 2025.’

An MHT official stated, “To support the national economy and leverage the country’s historical landmarks, the ministry has issued a tender for the management and enhancement of Samail Castle.”

The ministry official added that interested companies must submit proposals that encompass commercial and cultural marketing strategies, the hosting of artistic and cultural events, and the introduction of activities aimed at revitalising the castle.
