Los Angeles, USA – The debut of Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has been postponed due to the devastating wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles.
Originally scheduled to premiere this Wednesday, the eight-episode lifestyle and cooking show will now launch in March. The Duchess of Sussex, who was born in Los Angeles, expressed her gratitude to Netflix for supporting the decision to delay the release as California grapples with the aftermath of the fires.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Markle said in a statement.
The wildfires, which have claimed at least 16 lives and destroyed thousands of homes, prompted the decision, made at Meghan’s request and with Netflix’s full backing. A spokesperson for the streaming platform described the show as “a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California.”
Last week, Meghan and Prince Harry were spotted in Pasadena, Los Angeles, offering comfort to survivors of the fires. The couple resides in Montecito, a coastal community approximately 100 miles northwest of the city.
