Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko accorded official reception at Al Alam Palace
Muscat – President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus was accorded an official reception at Al Alam Palace on Sunday on the occasion of his visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
Before arrival of the motorcade of the president at Al Alam Palace, a cavalry squadron lined the two sides of the road to the gate of the palace.
Upon arrival at the courtyard of the palace, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received the Belarusian President, welcoming him as a dear guest of the sultanate. His Majesty wished him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay and a successful visit.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan accompanied the president to the Dais of Honour where the national anthem of Belarus was played, while the artillery fired a 21-gun salute for the guest.
His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying the president. On his turn, the guest shook hands with members of the Royal Family, ministers and military commanders.
H M, Lukashenko hold talks
Later, His Majesty Sultan Haitham and President Lukashenko held an official session of talks at Al Alam Palace.
The session reviewed the advanced relations between Oman and Belarus. It also explored means of promoting cooperation and partnership in economic, investment, technological and medical fields in a manner that serves interests of the Omani and Belarusian peoples.
The two leaders also discussed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The session was attended from the Omani side by H H Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court; Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Nu’mani, Minister of Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr Hamad bin Said al Oufi, Head of Private Office; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority (Head of Mission of Honour); and Hamoud Salim al Tuwaih, Oman’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Belarus.
It was attended from the Belarusian side by Viktor Lukashenko, son of the president and chief of the Belarus Olympic Committee; Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Alexander Efimov, Minister of Industry; Anatoly Linevich, Minister of Agriculture and Food; and Sergei Terentiev, Non-Resident Ambassador of Belarus to Oman.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan and the Belarusian President held a closed-door session.
