Muscat – Represented by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Oman is hosting the eighth edition of ICAO Security Week which opened on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event, held for the first time outside International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) headquarters in Montreal, will run for four days and aims to strengthen global aviation security.

The opening ceremony was attended by H E Sultan bin Salem al Habsi, Minister of Finance, along with more than 600 officials and specialists from ICAO member states, international organisations and civil aviation stakeholders.

The event seeks to address key issues impacting aviation security, enhance protective measures at aviation facilities, and ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
