Muscat – The number of passengers traveling through Oman’s airports rose by 4.1% by the end of October, reaching over 12.1mn across 90,846 flights. This compares to 11.6mn passengers on 89,043 flights during the same period in 2023, according to the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Muscat International Airport handled 10.72mn passengers, a 3.7% increase, across 80,678 flights, marking a 2.3% rise in flights. Among these, 73,040 were international flights carrying 9.7mn passengers, while 7,638 were domestic flights with 1.04mn passengers.
Salalah Airport saw 1.32mn passengers, a 6.4% increase, despite a 1.6% decrease in flights which numbered 9,068. Sohar Airport recorded 65,427 passengers on 580 flights, and Duqm Airport handled 50,656 passengers on 520 flights.
At Muscat International Airport, Indian nationals were the most prominent travelers, totaling 153,396 passengers. Omanis followed with 99,236 passengers, and Pakistanis ranked third with 51,172 passengers.
