‘India remains deeply concerned’: PM Modi writes letter to Palestine

New Delhi, India – On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s unwavering support for the development and aspirations of the Palestinian people. In a heartfelt message, he highlighted India’s longstanding commitment to people-centric projects and called for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in the region.

The Prime Minister stated, “India has been a steadfast development partner in realising the aspirations of the Palestinian people and will continue to stand by them on this journey. This includes implementing diverse projects tailored to their needs and priorities.” He also underscored India’s active support for the United Nations in its regional activities, aiming to alleviate the daily struggles faced by Palestinians.

Addressing the current humanitarian crisis in West Asia, Modi expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict. He called for an immediate ceasefire, the cessation of all acts of terrorism, the release of hostages, and the uninterrupted provision of humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. “The ongoing conflict has resulted in tragic loss of life and caused enormous suffering,” he added.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s position on a two-state solution, advocating for an independent, sovereign, and viable State of Palestine, coexisting peacefully with Israel. Emphasising dialogue and diplomacy as the cornerstones for lasting peace, he reiterated India’s belief in resolving disputes through negotiations.

Concluding his message, Modi extended his wishes for a peaceful and prosperous future for the Palestinian people, affirming India’s continued solidarity and commitment to their cause.
