Muscat – The National Transport Company, Mwasalat, transported more than 65,400 passengers via its bus network and over 5,900 passengers on ferries during the  National Day holiday.

According to data released by the company, November 22 marked the peak day for bus travel, with over 14,400 passengers recorded. Among them, 7,500 utilised Route A1, which connects Ruwi, Muscat International Airport, and Mabelah.

Ferry services were also in high demand, carrying over 5,900 passengers and 1,217 vehicles during the holiday period. The Shannah-Masirah route was the busiest, with more than 1,700 passengers using the service.

In addition to passenger services, Mwasalat facilitated the transport of 345.7 tonnes of cargo, underscoring the critical role of its operations during the National Day celebrations.
