Muscat – Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has announced tenders for four investment opportunities designed to enhance tourism offerings and provide visitors distinctive experiences.
One opportunity involves development of a restaurant or café within a section of Oman Botanic Garden called Hajar Mountains Biome. This is the second-largest structure on the premises near a cable car station and the garden’s main event hall. A dedicated kitchen area is included, with options for an outdoor seating area offering sweeping views of agricultural terraces, a wadi and a suspension bridge.
The last date for submission of bids is November 10.
Covering 500 hectares, Oman Botanic Garden is positioned to become one of the largest and most iconic gardens globally, integrating tourism, education and scientific research. Expected to draw 800,000 visitors annually, the garden will offer extensive recreational and educational facilities, besides modern amenities.
MHT unveiled three other tourism-related investment opportunities in Muscat, including a multi-use project at Azaiba Beach that will feature a luxury hotel, premium dining options and a health centre. Spread over 10,000sqm, it will have a 50-year contract and offer rent exemption for up to five years, depending on the scale of the project.
A 150sqm project in Al Sarooj area with a 10-year contract – specifically aimed at small and medium enterprises holding Riyada cards – will focus on a specialised tourist restaurant.
The fourth investment opportunity targets the creation of an integrated tourism project in Hail al Awamer in Seeb with plans for hotels, a seafront, shops and premium dining options, besides entertainment and service facilities. Covering over 91,000sqm, it has a 50-year contract and rent exemption for up to five years based on project size.
