Manah – H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, presided over Omani Youth Day celebrations on Saturday at Oman Across Ages Museum in Manah, Dakhliyah. The event celebrated the achievements of young Omanis, while spotlighting initiatives that serve society and inspire the nation’s youth to develop skills and build a proactive generation.

H H Sayyid Theyazin honoured recipients of the Youth Excellence Award 2024, recognising outstanding contributions in fields such as digital economy, media, environmental work, entrepreneurship and community initiatives.

Highlighting the ministry’s commitment to youth inclusion, H H Sayyid Theyazin inaugurated a branch of Youth Centre in Dakhliyah, ensuring that support for the youth reaches across the sultanate. Several agreements were also signed during the event aimed at bolstering initiatives that support youth development.

In a speech, H H Sayyid Theyazin praised the dedication and resilience of Oman’s youth. “It is our pleasure to celebrate the achievements and noble deeds of the young men and women of this nation,” he said. “With each generation, you bring pride to our country with enlightened thinking and a spirit of unity that strengthens the nation.”

He called upon Omani youth to contribute to national development and uphold the nation’s values and identity.

Referring to knowledge, technology and innovation as central to Oman’s growth, H H Sayyid Theyazin highlighted these as essential for a sustainable economy.

“Our deep-rooted Omani values are the essence of who we are as a people, and we rely on you, our youth, to carry forward this legacy in every aspect of national development.”

On the occasion, H H Sayyid Theyazin also announced the establishment of Youth Centre branches in Musandam and South Sharqiyah. “We are determined to create spaces that nurture the aspirations of young Omanis throughout the sultanate,” he stated, reinforcing the government’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for youth from all regions of Oman.
