Muscat – In an effort to elevate Oman’s position in the global innovation landscape, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (MOHERI) has proudly announced the opening of registration for the 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. This prestigious event, hosted from April 9 to 13, 2025 in the historic city of Geneva, Switzerland, is recognised as one of the foremost international exhibitions dedicated to invention and innovation.
This exhibition represents a significant opportunity for Omani researchers and innovators to showcase their groundbreaking inventions, research achievements, and novel products on an esteemed international platform. Participants will join over a thousand innovators from 40 countries, presenting diverse advancements across fields such as mechanics, machinery, electronics, computer science, and more. Notably, the exhibition will highlight innovations that resonate with Omani culture and environmental sustainability, reflecting the nation’s commitment to addressing local challenges while contributing to global solutions.
Moreover, the event serves as a vibrant marketplace for innovators, offering valuable networking opportunities with industrialists, financiers, and investors who are keen to support new ventures. This aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040, which emphasises fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship to drive economic diversification.
To be eligible for participation, applicants must be the owners of an innovative project or prototype and have submitted a patent application between 2022 and 2024. Special consideration will be given to those who have received a patent or intellectual property rights granted during this period. Additionally, applicants should not have previously received support from the ministry in any competitions from 2022 to 2024. Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential for effective engagement, and applicants must be at least 19 years old by the time of the exhibition.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications through the Oman Research Portal at https://orp.trc.gov.om/awards/inventionsGeneva/sub. The deadline for submissions is November 16, 2024. It is important to note that late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The final selection of nominees will be made by an evaluation committee based on specific criteria that reflect Oman’s values of excellence and innovation.
