Muscat – The Omani-Brazilian Business Forum, held on Monday, focused on strengthening economic and commercial ties between the two countries.

Discussions covered a range of investment opportunities across key sectors, including information technology, food security, pharmaceuticals, tourism and industry.

Hamoud bin Salem al Saadi, Second Deputy Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), highlighted the eagerness of Oman’s private sector to collaborate with Brazilian counterparts. He noted particular interest in sectors such as food security, construction, pharmaceuticals and information technology, and added that OCCI is committed to facilitating meetings between Omani and Brazilian business owners to foster commercial partnerships and exchange expertise.

Marcelo Lucas, head of the Brazilian business delegation, said he was pleased to be in Oman and praised the strong economic and commercial relations between the two countries. “These relations are key to achieving the development goals both nations aspire to.”

The forum featured a presentation titled ‘Invest in Oman’, which showcased the progress the sultanate has made in credit ratings and international rankings. The presentation also highlighted the sectors critical to achieving the economic diversification goals of Oman Vision 2040, such as logistics, industry, tourism and food security, alongside emerging areas like health, education and IT.
