Royal Opera House Muscat unveils 2024/2025 season programme

Muscat – The Royal Opera House Muscat has announced its 2024/2025 season, featuring over 50 performances from October 2024 to May 2025. The season includes five operas, nine Arabic concerts, seven classical concerts, and various ballet and family shows, promising a vibrant cultural experience.

The season opens with Verdi’s The Masquerade, performed by the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing on 3rd and 5th October, marking its Oman debut. Highlights also include Donizetti’s The Daughter of the Regiment on 5th and 7th December, Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra on 23rd and 25th January 2025, and La Traviata, closing the season with performances by Yusif Eyvazov and Juliana Grigorian.

The Arabic music line-up features major stars such as Majida Al Roumi, Ahlam, and Ragheb Alama. Special events include a celebration of Mohammed Abdel Wahab’s legacy in February 2025 and a series of Ramadan concerts.

Classical offerings include a Chinese music evening in October and a New Year’s Eve concert with baritone Erwin Schrott. Ballet fans can look forward to The Thousand and One Nights by the Mariinsky Ballet in February 2025, while flamenco enthusiasts can enjoy Memories of the Alhambra in May.

The programme is complemented by jazz performances, including Anthony Strong’s Oman debut in November, and an extensive education and community outreach series with workshops, open houses, and special school performances.

Tickets go on sale from Sunday, 18th August, at 11:00 a.m.
