Muscat – The Environment Authority (EA) has taken strict measure against those involved in cutting down old trees in the mountains of Dhofar governorate.

Reacting to the posts on social media about cutting down of trees in Dhofar, EA said in a statement, ‘The authority confirms that it has taken necessary measures against the violators in accordance with the Law on Conservation of Environment and Prevention of Pollution (Royal Decree No. 114/2001).’

The authority called on citizens and residents to report any environmental violations or wildlife infringements via hotline 1991.
