Muscat – The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Muscat organised a reception on Tuesday to congratulate the Omani National Youth Taekwondo Team for its outstanding performance at the GCC Youth Games held in the UAE in April. The Omani team won 11 medals in total including eight gold medals.

The former president of the Oman Taekwondo Committee Brigadier (Retired) Abdulmalek Ghassan al Mazruoi as well as Hon Mohamed bin Salim al Harthy, Member of State Council and Oman’s former ambassador to Korea, attended the event and addressed the gathering. 

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Oman. 

H E Kim Kiejoo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Sultanate of Oman, congratulated all the players and talked about Oman’s prosperous relations with Korea. “Taekwondo serves as a common bridge uniting the two countries. Korea and Oman celebrate a friendship of many years,” he proudly stated.
