Manjam Labs simplifies 45 govt services for better efficiency

19 May 2024 Manjam Labs simplifies 45 govt services for better efficiency

Muscat – Oman has streamlined 45 government services this year as part of the third phase of Manjam Labs, an initiative led by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) to make the services more efficient.

This measure follows a similar simplification of 265 services last year, through collaboration with 22 government institutions.

The services simplified in this phase covers essential public services such as issuance of birth certificates, ID cards and Omani passports, alongside facilitation of marriage guidance, pre-marital examinations and the registration of marriage contracts.

Additionally, specialised services for the elderly and people with disabilities have also been improved, so as to ensure better home care, disability benefits and social rehabilitation efforts.

MTCIT highlighted the introduction of a one-time request submission feature, bundling several services to expedite the processing time. It also offers certain services without the need for formal requests, streamlining access for beneficiaries.

These enhancements align with Manjam Labs’ methodology for smooth conduct of essential services throughout life stages – from birth to death – ensuring relevance and accessibility.

The third phase of Manjam Labs, running until July, continues to gather community feedback to further simplify and improve the services through efficient public administration in Oman.
