Muscat – The 13th edition of Tour of Oman will kick off on February 10, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY).
Speaking to Muscat Daily, an official at MCSY, said, “The organising committee of the 13th edition of Tour of Oman has begun marking the routes of the five different stages. The routes and distance of the stages will be revealed in the coming days.
“Tour of Oman 2024 is set to witness the who’s who of the world’s elite cyclists. The 13th edition will be held from February 10 to 14.”
For the second time, the tour will include Muscat Classic, which will be held on the eve of the five-day event on February 10.
The MCSY official informed that the number of teams in the 13th edition is expected to exceed previous year’s event which saw 18 of the most prominent international teams from Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia.
“Our national cycling team will participate in Tour of Oman 2024 with a crew of seven riders, competing with the strongest international teams and riders and gaining more experience from this global race,” the MCSY official added.
The first edition of Tour of Oman was held in 2010.
