Muscat – Oman’s Ministry of Education on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Finland’s Ministry of Education and Culture to enhance their cooperation in the field of education.

This agreement, formalised by H E Prof Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of Ministry for Education, and H E Anu Erika Viljanen, non-resident Ambassador of Finland to Oman, underscores the commitment of both nations to bolster educational cooperation.

Present at this occasion were Abdul Redha bin Mustafa bin Sultan, Finland’s Honorary Consul in Oman, and Maryam bint Muhammad al Riyami, the acting Director-General of Oman’s Department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation.

Central to the memorandum is the aspiration to deepen ties and collaboration between the two countries in pivotal educational domains.

Both countries aim to augment professional growth opportunities for educators, work on curricula, and share advanced educational methodologies and literature.

There’s also a focus on equating educational qualifications, incorporating information technology into teaching, fostering strong bonds among families, schools, and communities, and devising strategies to identify and nurture gifted students.

The MoU also lays emphasis on nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among students.
