Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCII) has informed that the 55% of the Liwa dual carriageway project has been completed, adhering to the benchmarks set in the Road Design Manual.
This critical 5.5km road connects North Batinah from the Liwa Roundabout on the Batinah Road to the Batinah Expressway junction.
The project will transform the current single carriageway into a dual carriageway, featuring two lanes in each direction with a 22.1m cross-section.
Additionally, the project encompasses the construction of two new roundabouts, designated entry and exit lanes, and service roads flanking the carriageway to facilitate seamless movement for both residential and commercial areas.
The road will be equipped with essential traffic safety features, including concrete and metal barriers, directional signs, warning markings, and LED lighting fixtures.
