Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism signed an agreement on Monday with the Hajar Mountains Resorts and Hotels Company for the management and operation of Al Mirani Fort in Muscat.
H E Ibrahim bin Saeed bin Khalaf al Kharousi, Undersecretary for Heritage, represented the ministry, while Khalid Hamad al Busaidi signed on behalf of the company.
This collaboration aims to preserve and promote architectural heritage, aligning with Oman Vision 2040 and the Tenth Development Plan’s strategic programmes.
By doing so, the ministry envisions increased job opportunities, both direct and indirect. It also seeks to bolster the private sector, especially small and medium enterprises, enabling them to market craftsmen’s work and thereby enrich local tourism with value-added projects.
The goal of this partnership extends to enhancing the range of tourist destinations, making the most of cultural heritage and historic landmarks.
Through such initiatives, the ministry intends to focus on the rich Omani civilisation and the depth of its cultural heritage.
