MoH begins construction of Mahout Hospital

Muscat – The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced that construction work of the Mahout Hospital project in Al Wusta governorate started on Tuesday.

In a statement, MoH said, ‘Built over 15,612sqm on a plot of land measuring 200,000sqm, the hospital will cost RO13.9mn and will include 54 beds. It is expected to serve approximately 1,708 citizens and residents.’

The hospital will include outpatient clinics, an accident and emergency department, an operating theatre, a maternity room, medical laboratories and a radiology department, in addition to patient wards, an Intensive Care Unit, a child care unit, a service building and a dialysis unit.

In a report on the health projects in the pipeline, MoH said it is currently implementing projects in various governorates at a cost exceeding RO275mn.

The projects include Suwaiq Hospital, Khasab Hospital, raising the capacity of Medha Health Centre in Musandam, expansion projects at The Royal Hospital, Nizwa Hospital and Sohar Hospital.
