Muscat – Darsait Titans beat Qurum Thunders by five wickets at Oman Cricket Academy Ground to win Oman Cricket’s D20 Championship.
Put in to bat first, Thunders scored 189 thanks to substantial contributions from Kashyap Prajapati (45 of 30;6×4,1×6) and Aiyappa CR. Shoaib Khan (59 of 42;9×4).
Jan Shafiq (2/33) was the pick of the bowlers for the Titans.
In reply, Titans could not get the start they wanted but the experience and expertise of Zeeshan Maqsood (90 of 52; 6×4,7×6) took them over the line in the last over. Maqsood gave a deserving glossy finish to his innings with a winning six. He was well supported by Sahil Shaik, Karan Kannan and Ravindra L.
“It was a wicket I would like to bat on any day. I thank our ground staff for enabling us with such magnificent facilities,” said Maqsood.
“I have always loved batting at No 4 and with the situation and magnitude of the game, I knew I have to give my all to get over the line. I also sincerely thank Majees Cricket’s owners, management, support staff and my fellow team-mates. I would dedicate this Man of the Match to my younger daughter and of course my family who have been supportive of me always,” he added.
Maqsood accepted the Player of the Match award from Kiran Asher, while Kashyap Prajapati, the Player of the Tournament, received a cash award by Oman Cricket from Alkesh Joshi.
