Muscat – The Office of the Governor of North Batinah has invited bids for the development of the Silver Jubilee Park – a major tourist attraction in Sohar.
The park with its natural scenic settings is an ideal place for people to unwind – taking a break from their hectic city life.
An official from the governor’s office said, “The office has launched a tender inviting Omani companies to bid for further development of the Silver Jubilee Park. The project aims to support domestic tourism and achieve the targets of Oman Vision 2040 by utilising public land for investment purposes.”
The project also aims to create a healthy atmosphere for families and visitors in parks, which is expected to boost the tourist and recreational attractions in Sohar.
The last date for submission of bids is February 12, 2023.
Apart from the Silver Jubilee Park, which will boast new facilities once complete, Sohar Municipality is working on to develop other parks in the city with modern facilities.
In 2020, OQ, Sohar Municipality and Jusoor Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation to install modern recreational games and rides in six public parks in the wilayat of Sohar.
Those six parks are – Silver Jubilee Park, Hambar Park, Al Hadhira Park, Sawaihra Park, Al Owainat Park and Al Minyal Park.
