Muscat – The Office of the Governor of North Batinah has revealed details of Sohar Festival to be held from November 18 to December 18 to mark the 52nd National Day. Festival activities will be held in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
Announcing the details, Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of North Batinah, said, “The activities will target all segments of society. The main festival events will be held at Sohar Entertainment Centre.”
Stressing that the festival aims to activate the economy in the governorate, and promote owners of SMEs and productive families, Kindi said the activities will be conducted in an entertaining environment for all to enjoy. “We are also expecting participants from abroad to take part in the artistic, literary and cultural activities.”
Additionally, Kindi informed, more than 500 youth and productive families will participate in the festival through 80 stalls to promote their products during the festival period.
“The festival will also include heritage villages and live performances related to various marine, desert and agricultural activities, as well as sports. Huge screens will also be installed to telecast the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches.”
